Volkswagen Group and PitPoint are working together

to increase clean transport in Germany


German initiative aims to expand CNG/Biomethane mobility: network of CNG gas stations to grow to 2000 stations, number of CNG vehicles to one million.

PitPoint signed a declaration of intent with different branch partners for the purpose of increasing the number of CNG vehicles in Germany to one million and to significantly expand the network of CNG stations. The memorandum will benefit environmentally friendly CNG vehicles, company cars and public transport in cities and villages. It was co-signed by E.ON Gasmobil GmbH, Gazprom NGV Europe GmbH, Gazu GmbH, ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH, Open Grid Europe GmbH, Pitpoint B.V. and TOTAL Deutschland GmbH. PitPoint aims to significantly increase the number of CNG stations and to become one of the largest suppliers in the market.

100 percent clean transport in 2030

PitPoint, together with its partners, builds and exploits a network of filling stations for private use and public transport, with buses, taxis and ferries. PitPoint also invests in hydrogen stations and a network electric charging stations. The aim is to expand the network of filling stations for clean fuel. “Our years of experience with clean transport and green fuels helps us play an important role in Germany”, says Erik Kemink, CEO of PitPoint. “Our goal is to become one of the top three suppliers of CNG/Biomethane stations in Germany.” This initiative fits PitPoint’s goal of attaining 100 percent clean transport in 2030.
